Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness
While at Blue Ridge, our clients rediscover the pathways to their strengths and resilience through primitive living in nature while supported by experienced field instructors, skilled licensed therapists, and a healthy peer culture and community. Nestled in the foothills of Northeast Georgia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, the Blue Ridge approach supports teens to reconnect with the best version of themselves. The simplicity of life in the wilderness creates a gentle pressure and metaphorical mirror for the challenges our clients face at home. Combining traditional, evidence-based therapies with a unique wilderness experience, Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness provides adolescent and their families a powerful setting for hope, change, and healing.
We invite you to explore this life changing opportunity for your child to break free from daily distractions and pressures, reset and improve physical and emotional wellness, connect with community on a deeper level, live in the present moment, and embody the authentic expression of oneself.
Our program was created to help teens and their families through challenges that can occur when various behavioral, psychological, or developmental issues are present. Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness provides the opportunity for struggling teens to reset in nature utilizing clinical assessment, therapeutic skill, and a supportive peer culture. We prioritize the physical and emotional safety and wellbeing of our clients, while offering the highest level of customer service and clinical expertise available in a wilderness therapy setting.
Our specific techniques combine the healing wilderness environment with evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Students are removed from the distractions of daily life at home and transplanted to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, where they live 24/7 in nature with other students and our supportive field staff. It’s here, in the tranquility of the great outdoors, that teens discover the life-changing metaphors between living in the wilderness and everyday life.
